Woolworth Chapel in Woodlawn Cemetery entered its ninth decade needing a thoughtful and skillful intervention to give it a new lease on life. The exterior of the building had been neglected, and the lack of proper cooling system and poor handicapped accessibility reduced the demand for its use. We addressed these in a comprehensive plan; developed unobtrusive integration of the mechanical duct work and access ramps. To date have restored the steeple’s copper roof and wood elements.
